About this work : A beautiful early gouache painting on paper in the unusual shape of a hand fan. It depicts an elaborate fountain adorned with urns and decorative water elements in the shape of a swan and bearded face. A group of pink flowers dominates the foreground with a group of trees rounding out the background. Beautifully matted and framed behind glass. It appears to be unsigned, but was presumably produced in continental Europe during the 19th century. Size : 14.5 inches tall by 17 inches wide (artwork) 21.5 inches tall by 24 inches wide (frame) Condition : Good antique condition with typical surface wear/creasing and several small pinholes.
