'La Fornarina', Italian Old Master, Portrait After Sebastiano Del Piombo, Antique Oil Painting A fine 17th century oil on wooden panel half-length portrait of a lady after Sebastiano del Piombo's early 16th century original. The subject is depicted turned slightly to the left with her head inclined to the left. She is wearing a white dress and a fur cape with a wreath and pearls in her hair. Late 17th century or early 1700's, Italian school, in good condition, commensurate with age. Verso with two wax seals, one of which bears a royal crown and text, for further research and investigation. The present work being fresh to the market and having no obvious restoration or losses. The panel slightly bowed, apparently unsigned and h oused in a good later moulded & painted frame . The image dimensions are approximately: 13'' x 10 3/4'' (33cm x 26cm).
