Description
Here is a beautiful work by one of the biggest names in renaissance art and particularly the Veneto, Gentile Bellini. Gentile was part of a very famous, if not the most, in Venice from the 15th through the 17thC. Many of their wall and canvas paintings still stand monument to the ingenuity and talent of this family. There are quite a few extant drawings available from Jacopo, Gentile, and Giovanni that show a very professional progression through the art process of the renaissance. This particular example is a fairly highly finished work depicting Saint Roch. As can be seen by his attribute: The gash on his leg and his trusty dog. He is, after all, the patron of dogs! Please ask if more information or photos are needed. The sheet and image are both in excellent condition and measure 18 x 11 cm. **********Shipping is for standard overnight in the contiguous states.
