Description
Here is an incredible drawing of a somewhat rare subject matter, Saint Veronica. You May recall her attribute of Christ's image on a cloth that she offered, and he used during his carrying of the cross. His image was consequently superimposed on the cloth an forever became a catholic relic. Surprisingly, over the years it has not become a wildly popular subject matter....at least not to my knowledge or research. The sheet itself is prepared with green pigment and is finished with pen and ink. There is a bit of white chalk present, no doubt for highlights. The sheet and image are both in excellent condition and measures 23 x 24 cm. The mount measures 16 x 20 inches and is a 4-ply museum board.
